Does anyone recognize the two people in the photos above? The submitter believes they may be husband & wife with Nova Scotian & possibly MA, USA connections. If you can name these people or have identical photos and wish to explore commonalities in your Family Trees, PLEASE contact her here.
Do you have a copy of this photo in your collection of ancestral photos? And do you know who she is? The photo of this lovely lady is another mystery in my family. She is probably a member of the COLLINS family from Annapolis or Kings Co., NS, but she could be a PHINNEY from the same area. If you have the answer or know someone who might, please let me know. If you have been exploring this site you may recognize the photo to the left. It was originally uploaded to the upper right corner of the COUNTY page. It is not known if the 5 young men were friends or relations or for what purpose the picture was taken. What is known is the name of the young man on the right side, in the back row. His name is Charles Lowell RHODENHIZER. More information can be found on him in the Lunenburg section of COUNTY in the menu. Should you know the names of any of the other young men please contact me. Today's mystery photo relates to Mystery Photo #1 of the 31st of March 2013. The 2 unidentified men of Mystery Photo #1 are found here with an unidentified, seated woman. The young woman standing behind her is Vera Blanche RHODENHIZER, the sister of Charles Lowell RHODENHIZER of Mystery Photo #1. Vera & Lowell's mother, Adelia Martha (CROUSE) RHODENHIZER died in 1903 at age 23 when her children were very young, so perhaps this is the family they were brought up in. Please let me know if you can identify these people from Lunenburg Co. NS. I can only identify 1 of the 3 people in this photo. His name is Charles Lowell RHODENHIZER and he is the handsome, young man standing on the right. He was known by his middle name, Lowell, and was the 1st child born to Jacob Archibald RHODENHIZER and his wife Adelia Martha CROUSE who married in Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, NS, in 1897. Lowell was born in the summer of 1898 at Branch Lahave, Lunenburg County. He had 3 sisters, Lilla May, Lois Princetta and Vera Blanche, as well as a younger brother, Robert Leon, who died very young. When he was 25 years old, Lowell married a Lunenburg girl Vera Gertrude YOUNG who was 5 years his junior. They had 2 girls who they named Pearl Virginia and Ruth Evangeline. Lowell died in 1988 and was buried at Branch Lahave, the town where he was born. If you can identify 1 or both of the other young men in this photo, I would love to here from you. |
